My premium doesn’t increase by anything.
Now the only problem would be selling a car while disclosing that it needs new transmission fluid and new spark plugs (And maybe a valve adjustment) and having enough money to buy a clean SC400. I could do the fluid and plugs myself, but I don’t have much time since the new quarter started.
Eeeeeeuughh the only barrier that stands in the way between me and RWD V8 goodness.

Just don’t disclose it. The buyer can’t tell in the 5 minute craigslist test drive anyway.

If you KNOW it needs plugs and fluid sure, say something.
If you don’t KNOW that it needs a valve adjustment - leave it out.

I guess I could do that.

Car is sold AS-IS.
It needed fluid and plugs? huh... not my problem. Sold AS-IS.
It’s a used vehicle with what I assume to be some good mileage on it. Maintenance should be expected on the buyer’s end.

Relatively low-miles according to KBB. About 114,000 compared to 140,000.

ATF and plugs are pretty easy. Just disclose that part (most used cars need plugs and fluids), but it’s the buyer’s responsibility to have it looked over, so if you’re not positive on the valve adjustment, don’t worry about it.
Good luck with the LS! Those things are SICK!

I second what MontegoMan says. Say what you know it needs, don’t say what you think it needs

Pretty much every 400 that shows up on my local Craigslist is a ‘92. I’d like that extra 5-or-so horsepower, but they’re all old.

I don’t think those are things you really need to worry about... I always change spark plugs on used cars I buy, if I want to know about the transmission I will ask for proof of service, and it has 110,000 miles so I would never assume or ask if it had a valve adjustment. Sell it as is (which you don’t need to say in WA... all private sales are as-is).

Well that’s just because you’re smart.
And thanks to you I’m going to bleach the shit out of my bathtub.

I would love to own one of those. They are so sexy. But I would go with a 300. I’ve read that the V8 is lacking (as much as a V8 can lack I suppose). But still, a v8 RWD car would be insane.
